Joshua Hathaway is a Sr. Associate on RMI’s Buildings Team with six years of experience in energy conservation, and whole systems sustainability, with expertise in passive solar design and daylighting design. He specializes in 3D digital modeling, daylight simulation, whole building energy analysis and climate responsive design solutions for a wide range of building types. Joshua joined RMI in January 2006.
Joshua has consulted on a variety of building types including residential complexes, laboratories, commercial and industrial buildings. He is interested in the application of daylighting design to the built environment to maximize energy conservation, minimize initial building construction costs, satisfy programmatic needs of users, and most importantly, to provide user comfort and delight in the interior environment. Joshua’s is leading the planning and coordination effort within RetroFit, RMI’s commercial building energy efficiency retrofit initiative that seeks to accelerate the implementation of deep building retrofits. He is currently involved in local and national projects that are deep-energy retrofits of existing commercial buildings and building portfolios.
